RUN CLUB is HERE!!!!!!!

Good morning, North!

Happy Friday!!!!!

RUN CLUB is HERE at NORTH!!!!!!

Want to learn more????!!!!

Here are some IMPORTANT FAQ:

Run Club Frequently asked Questions

When: During BOTH lunch recess times!
12:00 noon to 12:45pm for the next 6 Fridays: 04/12, 04/19, 04/26, 05/03, 05/10 and 05/17!  Stay for as long as you can!!! 10-15 min...

Where: Lower North field track: Kids are going to start on the track going clockwise starting before the tennis court where the ramp and the track intersect at 12:00pm! Parents and staff may be running too!

Who can walk/run? K-5th graders, staff and parents/caregivers (who have signed in)  are encouraged to run or walk also!

What if it is wet? Wet shoes OK, Wet clothes not. If it is raining or rain looks imminent, Lower field will be closed and we will announce on all call system before noon. Remember, no students on fields or playgrounds UNLESS an adult staff member is present!

How do you participate? Just show up! After every lap the kids run we will be handing them rubber bands. (5 rubber bands =1 little foot to go around the necklace they will each be given) .

How it works:
  • Each Friday students will come down with their necklaces and rubber bands from the previous run Friday Run Club day.
  • Each student is responsible for his/her Run necklace -perhaps your school desk may be a good spot!
  • Running starts at 12:00pm for grades 3-5 and 12:20- grades K-2
  • As the runners complete a lap, they will pass by a parent or student leader and will be given a rubber band.
  • At the end of their recess, kids will replace their rubber bands with little plastic feet. (5 rubber bands =1 foot for grades 3-5/K-2 participation foot for today!!!!) We will see how far our K-2 students get on our first few club days!
  • Students are encouraged to wear necklaces for the remaining part of the day and store the necklace in their desk till the following Friday.
What if I lose my necklace: "A learning opportunity" presents itself. Come by the office to let Principal Felt know....

Please thank Coach Flores, Mrs. Dougery, Mrs. Fritts and Mrs. Higgins-Druskin for their passion for safety, health and wellness!

Good Morning and Welcome Back!

Hi North!

Here is an email I sent to our families this morning. Please read to your students. Thank you!

Good Morning North Families,

Hope you enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating Spring Break!

As a reminder, student art contest and yearbook cover entries are due TODAY to the main office. A small group of staff will select finalists and 2-5 students will vote for winners on their chromebooks. K-1 students will vote on paper ballots.

Our incredible student council has been working hard to create job descriptions for our future officers. Current 3rd and 4th grade candidates will submit their campaign paragraphs by 4pm on 4/11 to the attached form: 2019-20 3rd and 4th Grade Spring Election Application

Finally, we have received a number of concerns regarding student safety at the crosswalk and entrance to North School.

Although student walking passes are a treasured "right of passage", we must do everything we can to support student safety. Please take this time to remind our students to be on their best behavior to and from school.

Again, welcome back! As always, my door remains open and I am willing to meet for any reason.
