Class Representatives for Student Council- PLEASE READ

North Buzz for Class Representatives:

Hello, this is Malia Chen, Student Council Communications Director.

Student Council Representatives please read this to your class:

There will be six snowflake appreciation project wreaths around the school. They will be located in the MPR, the library, the pick-up circle, the hallway, the office window, and in room 9, the music room. Students may write kind notes to parents, staff, teachers, and each other. Before winter break, the teachers will receive all of the cards addressed to them. There will be bags near each wreath with note cards we have decorated but feel free to create your own. If we run out, or lose any supplies, please notify Ms. Felt to replenish the wreath materials. Don’t forget to return the pens, and sign your name on the cards with both your first and last name. Also, the treasurers have announced that we made a profit of $1504, on our bottles and bags sale. The next fundraiser will be a popcorn sale. Teachers and reps, please count how many students have leadership roles in your class. Afterword, fill out the form that Ms. Felt sent out so that we can collect all the information. For spirit days, the next one will be PJ/Cozy Day. This spirit day was formerly known as PJ Day, but due to many students being uncomfortable wearing pajamas to school, we have decided on PJ/Cozy Day for the moment. Students can wear pajamas or cozy clothes to school. Next, the art contest update. Emme and Lila, the art directors, will be making a form of handout sheet with more information. Finally, all of student council - including representatives, have voted for the lost and found recipient to be the five victims. We voted between three different charities, Good Samaritan, the fire victims, and Salvation Army.

            Thank you,

Malia Chen, Communications Director

Happy Wednesday North Stars!

Good Morning Everyone,

I want to thank all of you for an outstanding job during our lockdown drill yesterday. Our new Chief of Police, Doug Davis and our wonderful HPD officers were very impressed with your performance. As mentioned to some of you, these drills are PRACTICE!!!! This is an excellent job to think about what you did well and how you could improve during a real emergency and/or an upcoming emergency drill.

I’d like to remind you to re-read our Constitution since it has been a while since we talked about it. If your delegates are in the room, please ask them to stand up and read the six articles of our Constitution.

Although I know it is a very exciting time of year, I’d like you to pay special attention to Article 6- Treat Others the Way You Would Like to be Treated.

If you would not like to have your wonderful snack removed from your backpack or lunch bag, please do not consider doing this to someone else. If you are hungry, please let me know ….we have a spare stock of snacks in the main office!

Similarly, if you would not like to be pushed, kicked, touched or shoved, please do not do this to anyone else. This is a firm but friendly reminder: Unwanted Physical Contact is against our school rules- any school, anywhere.

Finally, if you would find it offensive to watch a classmate behave inappropriately at school, please think about your behavior and consider taking a short break to think about what you are about to do.

Again, I am very proud to be your principal and I could not think of a better group of students in the world. Have a wonderful day and feel free to stop by to ask…..should I do this?! Would I want someone to do this to me? Am I hungry?! If so, what else can I do?

Thank you, North Stars! I read each and every one of your report cards which go home with you today. Take time to appreciate the amazing job you have done- I certainly did!

Your proud principal,

Ms. Felt
